Well! A great block color matching game that manages to make the matching process musical with a catchy "8-bit" theme. Additional points for the fact that your game is apparently non-Flash---when did Newgrounds start accepting pure HTML 5 + Javascript games?!? That's awesome!

Very nice!

Pros: A solid game design with solid programming and no bugs or glitches that I could find. Animation, graphics, and dialog are all very well done and the gameplay is challenging.

Cons: The dialogue. This game reminds me why I stopped playing console games right after the N64 era, right when they started getting all cinematic like a game wrapped around a movie script (because suddenly they could fit a lot more onto the CD-ROM :). It's fine when you're moving right along through the game but goddamn annoying when you're stuck on a harder level and you get to hear for the 20th time the same dialog about how so and so will deploy the tire spikes and ready the helicopter, etc. It's like watching the same subsection of a movie over and over again. Why can't these types of games omit the dialog after so many repetitions, with maybe a button to turn it back on?

Evil-Dog responds:

yeah turning off uncritical dialogs once you heard them could be good

Well OK

It's flawless and playable.
Your only mistake I see is typing unicode characters into the submission form, NG doesn't really handle that very well, believe me I tried :)

Nice concept!

It's a fairly original concept. You obviously put some effort into making a stable game with no glitches AND good puzzles. I like the funky syntho background music too, it fits :)

My only gripe is that there's something with your laser tracing code, it's slow. Flash starts to lag really badly when enemy laser beams run a long distance (especially multiple beams), which suggests you're using a naive algorithm involing HitTest and stepping along x,y a fixed distance to draw the line. You might consider making the step size larger, most walls and moving doors are 16-24 pixels wide so a larger step size (up to a point) wouldn't really miss anything. There are other optimizations you could apply too, considering the levels are static, the lasers are straight lines, the enemy's lasers stand still or rotate slowly.

Clever

It's not complete, so it's not a "game" it's a "gam" LOL

OK joking aside, if you're going to submit games at least complete them and put in more than one level. Ok?

ruffy

Good lord

And I thought the "Asshole Mario" SMB ROM hack was a bitch...

Painful

It's a great concept. It's just that 90% of the time you're going at a slow speed because you're trying to ride a bike over spikes and shapes that are anything but helpful in gaining speed. By the 5th level there are too many places where you're barely making it and very likely to get stuck.

I also hope the motorcyclist has some serious shock absorbers in the bike, because if something like that really existed I'm sure he would totally destroy his 'nads riding a course like that :)

Cool

What is this? 4-bit Wolfenstein 3D? It's too blocky to be 8-bit! Hahahaha XD

Anyway, good job on the game. Having written Trace-nstien I appreciate how you handled the processing load in a ray casting engine to make an interesting game.

Liar!

See, it's pretty obvious you're just spamming the Portal when you had it named "Cute kittens, click here to relax and chill out a bit" or something like that during judgement and then you retitle it something hateful just to piss people off once it passes. It's also pretty obvious when so many people supposedly came together as "co-authors" of this piece of crap.

In fact, I would suggest that the admins of this site might consider writing code to flag submissions as possibly spam if both of the above apply, so that admins can check in on it and remove it efficiently. That would stop a lot of KK crap like this short, and then the KK would eventually find better things to do with their time or at least stop treating this site like their kitty litter box.

KovioXZ responds:

there are no co authors? and this isnt a kk flash?

Nice!

It's just as I remember the old DOS version! You ported everything. Nice job!

Now see if you can get Quake to run in Flash! That would be a bigger test of the Flash VM's optimizer X>D
